ABOUT THE ALBUM

Saltbox’s first reaction to the screams in “I Fear God”

Released on May 16, 2025, Miasma marks the debut full-length album from Baltimore’s Saltbox. Featuring eight original tracks written by the band, the record captures the raw power and emotional depth that have defined their presence in the Baltimore music scene since their formation in 2024.

Recorded and mixed in the home studio of Frank Chiovaro, Miasma balances unfiltered energy with carefully layered production. Drawing inspiration from bands such as The Smashing Pumpkins, Hum, and Tool, Saltbox channels a wide spectrum of rock influences into a sound that is both heavy and atmospheric. Each member contributes their own voice and vision, creating a record that feels collaborative, dynamic, and uniquely their own.

The recording process began on December 7, 2024, when the band set aside their steady run of live performances to focus fully on the studio. Basic tracking was completed in just two days, with weeks of additional refinement adding nuance and depth. Chiovaro’s production expertise proved crucial, shaping the album’s sonic identity and elevating its intensity. Final mastering was completed at Wright Way Studios, while artist Corri Caffee provided the distinctive album artwork that visually embodies the spirit of Miasma.

To celebrate the release, Saltbox hosted a packed album release show at Morsberger’s Tavern on May 16, where the band’s growing community of fans sold out the venue—proof that Miasma was not only highly anticipated but immediately embraced.
